Your journey into the sacred ruins can start either by bus or by foot. It can take about a half hour to travel by bus, or 1-2 hours along the bus route if traveling by foot.Confused? Due to the condition of the ruins, the government has limited the number of people who can visit the site each day to just 2500. Therefore, if you plan on visiting Machu Picchu, it is best to purchase your tickets in advance or go with a tour.
